Seafarer Laemmle slide - This was an advertisement that preceeded feature films at Laemmle Theaters, the premiere art house chain in Los Angeles. The original photoshop artwork was vertical so I rearranged the elements to fit this horizontal format.

Seafarer Final Weeks e-blast - As with the previous e-blasts, I was given very specific parameters to follow regarding size, content and, to an extent, layout. The text could not overlap the images at all so the provided artwork had to be rebuilt on a solid background and the text placed in a grid format. Elements of the original layered Photoshop artwork were placed on a solid background to conform to the parameters without losing the "feel" of the original piece.

LA Magazine website icons - This pair of icons was designed using elements pulled from the original artwork, a layered photoshop document provided by an outside graphic design firm. I was also provided with specific dimensions and copy. While the Geffen colors are orange and blue, it was decided that black provided a better contrast as well as better complimenting the colors in the artwork.

Neilsen Media Group web icons - This group of icons uses elements pulled from the original photoshop artwork provided by an outside graphic design firm. The dimensions of the top icon made using the Mahoney image impossible. The whiskey glass and playing cards are part of the original artwork and elements of the plot. I was provided with specific dimensions and copy. While the Geffen colors are orange and blue, it was decided that black provided a better contrast as well as better complimenting the colors in the artwork.

"The Seafarer" Sunday LA Times ad - We tried using the original artwork, as seen in the marquee, converted to greyscale, but the background color and elements didn't provide enough of a contrast. I spoke with the design firm that created the original artwork and asked them to send me the layered Photoshop artwork so I could try some different versions in greyscale. We found that eliminating all of the background elements produced the most striking effect. The text in this piece was provided by the Advertising Director.

LA Sunday Times ad landscape - Th decision was made to "change it up" with this ad and include the entire cast. I chose photos from the production that I felt had caught the personalities of the characters. The text and quotes were chosen by the Advertising Director.

Time Stands Still e-blast - This was the first e-blast I designed for the Geffen Playhouse. I was given very specific parameters to follow regarding size, content and, to an extent, layout. The text could not overlap the images at all so the provided background image had to be rebuilt on a solid background and the text placed in a grid format. Also, the images of the actors were digitally placed into a "snapshot" format. The play is about a photojournalist.

Louis and Keely extended run e-blast for Jewish Journal patrons - I was provided size specs and copy for this piece. I felt the horizontal artwork (courtesy of Imaginary Forces) worked better than the vertical artwork used in other pieces for this play.

Season Subscription Thank You direct mail piece - While many of the advertising and direct mail pieces from the Geffen feature an orange background, we felt that with the twilight shot of the courtyard and the fact that these are evening events, The Geffen's dark blue as a background would make a bolder, more dramatic statement and make the lighter version of the logo really pop.

New Season lobby banner - This banner hung in the lobby for several months to attract season subscribers.
