Resumé

November 2011
Mac Designer/Studio Assistant
Watermark Publishing, Corby, Northants

I completed a two-week work placement within the company’s Birch studio, where I created greeting cards for various occasions which included: Son's Birthday, Baby's 1st Easter, Father's Day and a female Birthday range. Many of the cards I designed are to be published in the company’s Orange Book range for 2012.

During the placement, I gained confidence in working independently and under pressure to meet strict deadlines. I also gained invaluable experience into how to produce a successful greeting card design, which enabled me to enhance the design of my own cards collection.

October 2011
Illustrator
Hallmark Cards, Bradford

Working within the company's illustration team, I produced illustrations for greeting card designs and developed a collection of greeting cards within the Mother’s Day range. From the placement, I gained confidence in working within a studio alongside other illustrators, where I received constructive feedback of my progress, which allowed me to develop my designs further.

July 2011
Designer
Turner Bianca PLC, Oldham, Greater Manchester Working in a large studio alongside other talented designers, I gained invaluable experience, which has enhanced my understanding of how a design studio is operated, and the processes involved in producing a design from start to finish. I had an opportunity to create bedding and cushion designs, which will be featured in Bhs and Next in Spring/Summer 2012 for their Home collections.

July 2008
Studio Assistant
Sukie, Brighton
I assisted in the production of Sukie’s stationery range as well as managing stock and orders in the workshop. This was a great opportunity for me to gain an insight into how a small studio is managed and experience working in a studio-based environment.

May 2007
Studio Assistant
Peter and Paul, Sheffield

During my 4 weeks work placement within their studio, I assisted the team with the 'Urban Splash' project where I helped generating ideas for the ‘No Place Like Gnomes’ poster designs.
