I wanted to mimic a few views of this charming small house in Zachary, Louisiana (designed by Stephen Atkinson). I admire the concept as it has proven to be a very suitable design for the geographic region (deep American south). Also, it was a great way to test how many billions of polygons I could scatter in a scene (everything is modeled). I used 3DS Max, Mental Ray, and Photoshop. This project was a great opportunity for me to experiment with "filtered" light. For the interior shots, I filtered hazy sunlight through slightly translucent leaves before it entered the translucent window treatments. This, in turn, softened and saturated the light that entered the living space.
