Spectrum Brands, A. Art Director, 2003—2008
Supervised a team that updated and unified branding throughout the entire Rayovac brand, reduced costs, augmented and implemented marketing positions for the Rayovac brand.
Projects included: catalogs, packaging, branding, promotional materials, websites, displays, art direction of photography, conceptualization of presentations, instructional illustrations and animations.
Conceptualized and created the highly successful Rayovac “Power/Value Chart” marketing message still being used. The sales results lead to HUGE gains over one of the top two battery companies (Energizer & Duracell). Specifically the development of the bold alkaline graphics and messaging that directly contributed to a 7.5% increase (as of 2008 and still growing) in retail sales growth in a flat to declining market with three strong, national competitors.
In other words, “The development of the bold new alkaline graphics helped contribute to the success at retail. Fiscal Year 2008 Revenue plan was approximately $214M. Actual Fiscal Year 2008 Revenue came in at $230M according to Copa Cubes.”, Spectrum Brands Management.
By restructuring the type of work done by the in-house creative department and finding efficiencies, we saved the company over $979,600 over a four year span that would have been spent on outside vendors.
Created an in-house digital photo studio saving $30,000 in the first 4 months of use.
