Structural design for an Aquatic Centre, using an elegant and efficient shape and minimising the amount of steel and connections used. The portal frame design morphs between an arch on the ends and a truss haunched rectangular frame in the middle. The columns are deep to resist the lateral force, while most of the other members are slender, transferring force axially.
