Project Name: Concrete Culture
Concrete Culture is a project for young people to come and learn new skills.The project creates different projects including graffiti, music, skateboarding and design. Activities will surround the building making the area lively but also a place for people to sit,relax and spectate. The site consists of three layers, a bridge,ground floor and a subway running underneath.All three layers are adapted so that the public are always interacting with the project. Buses will be featured in the main building in keeping with its history. These will be converted into workspaces for individual artists or grups to rent out.
The theme of the Concrete Culture will be very industrial. Using lighting to enhance the existing concrete structure. Metal and corten will be used creating reflections and shadows from the interactive lighting system.
