CT/MOCA

The main objective of CT/MOCA was to create a multi use complex that would incorporate a museum, housing, as well as a movie theatre and shopping destinations. Sustainability was a point of emphasis for this design project. The circular shapes coving the South, East and West of the building are an operable louver system that adjusts accordingly with the sunlight throughout any given day. The design was meant to mimic the organic growth of moss as it leaves voids throughout the facade while expanding further in others. Much of the design is a single story reaching 20' in height. This was done to create a cohesive path that would extend Constitution Plaza through the property while maintaining a constant visual of the water front that is located to the East of the site.
