About Gloria Owens Born and raised in New York City, Gloria earned her BFA in Graphic Design at SUNY Purchase, where she also studied printmaking, painting and photography, and developed a passion for excellence in design. Over the past 25 years her professional design work has encompassed branding, packaging and marketing materials for highly visible corporate clients including Office Depot, Motorola, Iomega, Altec Lansing and Norelco, among others. Gloria combines her talents as a visionary artist and creative team leader with her skills as a technically savvy, hands-on Mac designer for a multi-faceted approach to her work. She is comfortable in all phases of a project; from developing strategy & design concepts to copy writing, art direction and project management. The hallmark of Gloria's work is her ability to decipher information, listen to clients needs and capture the essence of their business objectives through effective design & communication. She is organized, easy-going and an excellent team player, approaching each project with professionalism, insight and humor. Her award-winning graphic design work has been published in several design publications including Graphis, Print and Digital Vision magazines. For over a dozen years Gloria worked at Macey Noyes Associates, a nationally known design & marketing firm in Wilton, CT., first as a Senior Designer and later as a Creative Director. In 2005, she decided to explore fresh creative horizons, starting her own firm, Fish Cat Design. Since that time she has never looked back... recently designing & building her dream work space; a soaring art studio that serves as a welcoming and inspiring place for all that walk across the threshold. With reasonable overhead, excellent customer service skills, a team of talented freelancers & collaborators to call upon and the flexibility to manage all sorts of projects, Gloria is uniquely positioned to offer high quality & value for any type of organization. Along with her husband, Gary Owens, Gloria has created Lighthouse Maps, a flourishing publishing business that prints over a million tourist information maps a year for towns in Connecticut, as well as an extensive website to support visitors and advertisers alike.
