The earbud market is a very crowed place, especially at a twenty dollar pricepoint. For the iHome iB18 I wanted to create a product that was far superior in style and performance, specifically one that had a luxury feeling that would set it apart from the sea of generic earbuds around it. To accomplish this I designed these premium noise-isolating earbuds with full metal housings, 2-colored flat cables with in-line mic+remote, and a matching travel pouch. But the real point of differentiation is the packaging. This giftbox sparkles with eye-catching holographic foil accents, high gloss UV spot varnish over a silky matte background, and stunning photography. The front flap opens to reveal the metal earbuds displayed inside like jewelry and, to top it all off, the hangtag portion of the packaging is reusable as a convenient earbud cordwrap. In this luxurious presentation, the iB18 is obviously value far beyond it's retail.
