Rise - $30 Prosthetic

For our senior capstone project we were challenged to design a prosthesis for a child in a developing country for $30. We worked in country groups to develop a line of arm and leg prosthesis that could be sent to NGO's and assembled by the amputee themselves. This project involved a lot of trial and error. Our best accomplice during this project were mockups. I chose to focus on the function of the hand because it granted a child a tool for education, earning a wage and acceptance back into the culture.
