The lamps, "Maiju" seem to be lacking a solid base of support, their particular spherical basis in fact creates the illusion that they are floating in the air a few inches from the floor.
With the perfect balance of the weights of all elements distributed at the base of the lamp, in case the lamp is struck, the substantial difference between the weight of the base and the rest, make the lamp oscillates on the spherical base without ever falling (MAIJU = Mai giù - Never down).
