Frame Joint - Scored Flexible PVC tubing joint. -This joint, in conjunction with the centre joint, allowed the kite frame to withstand large sudden impact loading. -The kite frame was designed to deform on impact as a means of energy dispersal. -After impact the kite frame returns back to its original shape without damage.

The centre joints were constructed from EVA (expanded rubber) which was extremely lightweight, strong and rigid however on sudden impact. It allowed for a large amount of structural deformation before returning to its original shape without causing damage to the connecting dowels.
Top profile section on Aluminium spine - Top profile section mounted on the lightweight aluminium angle iron spine. The aluminium spine was an ideal material for the purpose as it was extremely lightweight, strong and allowed the optimum amount of flexibility while in flight.
