This was the first design I was asked to render. OSB and cardboard tubes were always a strong aspect of the design because we had access to a plentiful recycled source. This design included the logo of the Brighton Product Lab in the background, and as a central table on which the products being exhibited would be placed. Posters explaining the products would be placed on the OSB boards surrounding the table. Model courtesy of Adam Gale.
This is the second design, and is much closer to the final design. A rear bench table displays products small enough to be placed on it, and their posters are displayed above. Any products which are too large to go on the bench would be displayed in front with floor mounted suspended posters. This concept introduced a TV area with corresponding seating, where images, movies or presentations could be displayed. White OSB would be used as flooring. Model courtesy of Adam Gale.
This was the final agreed design in its earliest form. Individual stands would be made from cardboard tubes, with a bench at the front. Under foot flooring and overhead cloth connected the entire stand. The colours of the individual tables would match the colours used in the Brighton Product Lab logo. Model courtesy of Adam Gale.
As the final design developed, these renders were made to reflect the progress. Modelled by myself.

This is a concept I made after the exhibition, reflecting the observations that I made there. Products are displayed on cylindrical plinths with wraparound details underneath. Large products are displayed in the back corners of the stand. "University of Brighton Product Design" is clearly shown on the back wall, with the university star logo underneath.
In this personal concept, a U-shaped table holds all products, with the information at the side. Students stand inside the table, ready to speak to visitors. Large products stand on the floor outside the table. The conventional University of Brighton logo is displayed on the back wall.
This personal concept is similar to the final design of the stand. 2 acrylic tables display the projects with their information next to them at the edge of the stand outwards towards visitors. Large products are displayed inside the tables. Undisplayed products are represented by posters along the back wall. A TV and a small seating area allowed images, videos and presentations to be shown. The University of Brighton logo is displayed on the back of the seating.

University of Brighton Product Design New Designers 2013 Stand

Every year, final year students of the University of Brighton Product Design course are solely responsible for the design and manufacture of the stand where they will exhibit their work at New Designers ( http://www.newdesigners.com/ ). This year, students decided to focus on sustainability because our stand is not re-used, and the stand complied with ISO 20121. These images show the development of the 2013 stand, as well as some concepts of my own. This was a group project and involved a variety of designers and modellers, but all rendering was completed by myself.
