Rhino Rod - Over the years I have crafted consumer products in Rhino. I wanted to do something for myself, something that I had a passion for. So I created a car from scratch with every detail I could imagine. Everything in these images was created in Rhino. No cheating with the use of Photoshop.
Rhino Rod - Completed model features engine, full interior., chassis & suspension.
The grille - I wanted this to be the dominant feature of the design. After all, the modernized 32' Ford is a very simple and clean form. I wanted the front end and grille to almost be sculptural in an "Art-Deco" kind of style.
Is it done yet? - I could spend another year on this adding more details and tweaking material finishes and reflections. I have learned a lot through this process and you really see the amazing tool that Rhino 3d is. Not only did a create a truly detailed 3d product from the ground up I had the fun of making my own 3d world around it, lighted it and then picked and chose my own angles for a virtual reality photoshoot. These made for the creation of my own "near" Poster quality prints.
Hybrid motorcycle concept - And so it began with a sketch in 2002 and 3d wheel in 2008
The heart - Since this was all my dream I took some artistic liberties. The color of the car is inspired by my own and the engine is the very same engine as my own just doubled and joined into one. There is a lot of detail in there including all plumbing for the turbos, radiator, intercooler, accessories like the waterpump, alternator, steering pump, belts etc.
The engine is reasonably detailed, accurate and feasible. Your average designer would not concern himself with technical challenges.
The finished rendering - 2300pcs, no cheating in Photoshop.
