Dark Swamp - If Dracula lived in a swamp, it would probably look like this. While creating some box art for one of the many action figures I worked on, I wound up making this spooky little number. It didn't fit in with the rest of the design, but I couldn't just throw it away now could I?
Metroid - Icons - Set of 3 Icons created in tribute to the video game Metroid. Created in Photoshop.
TMNT - Icons - After the Metroid Icons I moved on to some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle icons. I think the manhole cover is the most successful of the set. You can see the Mouser is where I started trying to paint more of the image.
Earthworm Jim - Icons - I love the video game Earthworm Jim and decided to practice painting in Photoshop by creating these desktop icons. Everything here was painted in Photoshop.
Hellboy - Icons - After finishing the Earthworm Jim Icons I moved on to Hellboy. The gun was painted from a reference photo, but the final product is 100% painted in Photoshop.
Bulldog - From sketch to ink to color. Inked and colored in Photoshop.
Red Sky - This is a photo I took in the backyard of my old apt. I brought it into Photoshop to play with the colors and levels.
Squidstronaught - Step One - This started as just a small doodle on a sketch pad. I decided to try to try and create the entire thing in Illustrator. Once that was done I moved on to step Two...
Squidstronaught - Step Two - Step Two of the Squidstronaught added some extra tentacles and controls for the harness. An old Atari Joystick on the left and a hi-tech touchpad on the right.
The Abyss - A lot of odd Photoshop settings and a couple of fortuitous color options and you get... this. Sometimes I think it reminds me of the illustrations you see in some old bibles. The ones that depict what hell would look like... or maybe this is one of the levels from Dante's Inferno.
Sir Fishbike - Random sketch from my book that I finished in Photoshop. I'll be using this guy's head as my logo once my new website portfolio is up and running.. He's a real gentleman with his top hat and monocle
Ghostbusters Trap - My first jump into pixel art. I sketched it out in pencil and then slogged my way through pixelating it. I did a whole lot wrong along the way but powered through and now it looks pretty sweet. My next step is to animate it...
Sandman Slim - Movie Poster - Fake Movie poster for a Really Awesome book. I designed this while trying to get an interview at a firm that creates movie posters. I think it's pretty bad ass and had a great time putting it together. Photoshop all the way with stock images borrowed from around the internet (I promise to give them back as soon as I get the job). Also, go check out the book! It's part of a series written by Richard Kadrey and the 4th one is coming out soon. Don't sleep on this one!
