Backyard America : Product Engineering Coordinator
May 2011 - February 2012
My primary tasks were to oversee all daily operations of the technical
department and ensure that we were able to create custom plans, quotes,
and arrange engineering in a timely manner. While there, I aided in adding a
new product line and authored the shift of the company’s CAD data from
Sketch-up to AutoDesk Inventor. In addition, I created graphical data & forms for internal and promotional uses when needed.
Aquent : Staff Designer
January 2011 – March 2011
I served as a staff designer at Aquent, a design talent placement agency.
My first assignment was set for three weeks and included contributions
on projects for the CIA, Dept of Energy, Grants.gov and the Department
of Veteran's Affairs. Worked on both team & self-directed projects –
multiple projects per day with hard deadlines.
Work consisted of Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.
Enlightenment Design: Principal, Chief Designer
November 2008 – Current
I serve as the founder and principal of Enlightenment Design. I work
with several regular clients – primarily from Savannah, on advertising,
illustration and graphic design. Some of the companies I service are
Cash 'N' Carry, Coastal Digital Reprographics and Inner Kingdom Games.
Savannah College of Art & Design : Laser Specialist
September 2008 - November 2010
I serve as the chief laser technician at SCAD’s Gulfstream facility.
My responsibilities include operating and overseeing a 5 watt cutting laser -
acting as a bridge between the students and the machine - as they are not
able to operate the machine themselves. I also have created improvements
to the process in the FDM lab through design of forms required for various
processes. I have also created templates and customized interfaces to
allow a much wider spectrum of students to be able to use the facilities.
Dragonpencil Publishing : Director of Operations / Client Relations
July 2007 - July 2008
I was the first full time employee at Dragonpencil - and during my time there,
I was able to experience a deep level of involvement with many aspects
of the company. My daily responsibilities include overseeing between
twenty and forty projects and serving as the first point of communications
between many prospective clients and existing clients. This management
experience resulted in my guidance of the company’s growth from two to
eight employees and tripling our annual output.
Signs For Minds : Product/Graphic Design
June 2006 - June 2007
Success through leadership led to me managing & spearheading
the design department. My duties included overseeing the success of
two to four other designers in our turnkey process - from need analysis
to rapid visualization to efficient delivery of the final product.
Deep Magazine: Contributing Design Columnist
May – September 2003
I created design articles for the vital first issues. Deep saw a marked
distribution increase and moved to have an all-woman staff for verisimilitude.
advertising revenue has increased greatly since the magazine began -
unfortunately, the magazine saw it’s last issue in January/February 2008.
