Aqua Lung Product Designer & Development Manager Nov. 2012 – Current • Design soft-goods & accessories for professional and amateur SCUBA divers; Discover market needs, test concepts, develop samples, create technical sketches and design specifications for manufacturing • Actively engage Marketing and Executive Teams; Produce product development briefs, presentations, sales reports and marketing concepts to support cohesion of product look/function within brand segmentation and adhere to a strict seasonal product launch schedule • Work directly with factories in Asia; Establish new sources of supply, lead the industry in new production methods, report annual purchasing timeline, negotiate prices, minimum order quantities & payment terms Town and Country Living CAD Designer: Kitchen Soft-goods Jun. 2010 – Sept. 2012 • Design unique textile constructions, illustrate, color reduced for screen printing, prepare technical specifications, expand designs for merchandising and prepare sales presentations • Develop trend and brand analysis, present concepts and prepare presentations for kitchen license agreements including Kitchen-Aid, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Sandra Lee, Marimekko and Fiestaware • Work with suppliers in China and India to develop product for Wal-mart, Costco, Kmart & Target 5.11 Tactical Hard-lines Technical Designer / Soft-goods Design Consultant Aug. 2008 – Apr. 2010 • Design soft goods, camouflage patterns and apparel for law enforcement, fire and military teams • Build the hard-lines & soft-goods technical library for all bags, pouches, holsters, belts, pads, watches, glasses, knives and hats • Provide technical documents developed in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel for mass production Crye Associates Designer and Prototype Intern May 2007 - Dec. 2008 • Work with the US Special Forces to develop new technologies including heating systems and masks for HALO diving suits, bullet proof chassis, and pouches for gear • Prototype concepts for field testing from patterns built in PAD, cast bullet proof plates for testing, build fiberglass HALO diving masks, prototype temperature control & circulatory systems for HALO diving suit SKILLS Adobe Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design Microsoft Suite: Word, PowerPoint and Excel Specialized programs: 3D Solidworks, PAD, Graphite FABRICATION: Textiles including bullet proof, waterproof, heat resistant, light resistant, cold resistant, anti-bacterial, high friction and elastics, Industrial sewing, pattern making, wood and metal lathe, milling, foam casting, plastic casting, mold making, and vacuum forming.
