Luis Othon Villegas Solis

LVS-Architecture is a boutique design firm founded by Luis Othon Villegas-Solis. The firm employs methodologies of design thinking and human experience through space performance, and works hand to hand with clients to understand their business. It specializes in analyzing culture, philosophy, art, event and performance, and meet in private cases concepts like branding and marketing strategies through the lens of innovation.
Luis Othon Villegas Solis is the founder of LVS-Architecture, he earned a Master in Design Studies from Harvard University, Cambridge USA(2003) and a bachelors degree in architecture from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (1997). While at Harvard University he was collaborator to Professor Francois Vigier and Mona Serageldin at the Center for Urban Development Studies. He also worked as Teaching Assistance to Paola Antonelli, curator of Architecture and design at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
He is the former Director of the School of Architecture and Interior Architecture at CEDIM (Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey). He directly manages the faculty staff reporting directly to CEDIM´s Chief Catalyst. He was involved in the developing of the 2012 Academic Agenda; as well as managing a Multidisciplinary Project between CEDIM, CEMEX and the government of Santa Catarina Nuevo Leon.
He joined TEN Arquitectos in New York (2003) and collaborated in projects such as The Free Library of Philadelphia, Harlem Park & Marriot Hotel, and participated with artist Lawrence Weiner at the Snow Show in Finland. He worked as design manager for David Rockwell at the Rockwellgroup in New York in projects such as Meadowlands Xanadu, a 3 million square feet retail and entertainment project in New Jersey, Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis and Siam Paragon Shopping Mall in Bangkok.
Luis Othon is also founder of The Urban Research Gang, a network of people dedicated to educate, support and assist research on the fields of Arts, Design and Architecture. He has made written contributions to various publications, websites and magazines like The Architects Newspaper in New York and BLINK Lifestyle.
