Design has a lot to do with research and development. When companies lack this essential need, the final product shows weakness. I come from a background the executes strong intentions for research to help push design where it needs to be. Anyone can design a product, but if there is not a story behind the design, then it is just another product that will get lost with everything else. I strive to make sure I understand the markets needs and what the possibilities could be before devoting a lot of time into a product. With my understanding of the whole process of design from concept to 3D models to spec sheets, I am aware of the necessary needs to make sure a product is developed within a timely matter and cost effective.
Industrial Designer / Product developer for the automotive department. Responsible for creating new products to meet our clients needs. In charge of concept drawings, renders, 3D models, and final spec sheets for our factories.
Catia and NX are used on a daily basis to update existing models, drafts and create concepts or final products for our clients in both automotive and product design. Three out of the five days during the week are spent at GM technical center, where I work as a supplier. My responsibilities at General Motors consist of using NX to modify and release models and drawings into their system. Programs used our NX, E2square, Teamcenter, Trufusion.
AutoBike was seeking a designer to help aid the company through the start-up phase. My responsibilities were graphic design, layouts, sketching, 3D modeling, Iphone /Android APP design. Whenever something creative needed to be done, I was in charge of making sure expectations were met in pre-production to final release.
Started in the Seafood department, then transfered to Meat, produce, and finally ending in grocery. Working at Whole Foods has helped put a new perspective on what is good for you. It has also taught the pros/cons of food packaging.
Whirlpool wanted a device that uses air or water, so I came up with the idea of using both to get the job done. Without needing to use harmful chemicals, you can now clean and not have to worry about unwanted smells.
I helped design a solar kit using 3D software to better illustrate how the panel would be used on a roof. 3D images provide a detailed illustration of what the final product will look like.
Motorola was looking to put there mark on the less fortunate countries out there, so I decided to target the deforested land in the Amazon rainforest. Would be a good candidate. With land being deforested year round, I came up with the solution to map, manage, and protect the land that has already been deforest and turn that land into something useful again.
Design a web layout, and spread sheets.
CCS has helped shape me into the designer I am today. I can now tackle new projects without ever questioning myself where to begin.
