Neuro Clinic Patient Experience Design- Wait Time - In the Neuro Clinic of Dr. Amin Kassam Patients are often asked to wait for over 3 hours. Our team conducted interviews, observation & participatory design activities to determine how the clinic might affect wait time. We explored the way individuals interact with the clinic doctors, staff other patients & resources. Results: a plan for technology & services facilitating connection & care during wait time.
Patient Experience Design - My team and I spent 4 months with Dr. Kassam and his staff, he is the only doc in the world who performs brain surgery through the nose, subsequently he has hundreds of patients who occasionally have to wait for hours and hours to see him for less than 15 minutes. This was an amazing opportunity to effect the lives of individuals who are in a rare and overwhelming situation.
This project was a collaboration with a group of design grads, Dr. Kassam and his staff. We were asked to assist with the overloaded clinic patients visit to receive an emerging brain surgery technique. We decided to Embrace Wait time with various solutions such as a mentor program and wait time indicators.
