Exhibition Project-catalog cover - The aim for this project was to design a catalog for the Exhibition of Chinese Folk Art. The image of Chinese knot and the ancient double doors are used for the catalog cover and the invitation card as metaphors for the connection between the past and present, the tradition and the new. Japanese binding is employed for the binding of the catalog. The Chinese characters used here are ancient character that developed from pictorial symbol. The use the ancient character echoes with the theme of past tradition. Two main colors used in the series are red and yellow, which are the two most important colors in Chinese cultural. As a Chinese immigrant in the melting pot society, cultural tradition of different country always draws my interests.
