This Project involved working with a brief set by Bisley, am manufacturing company of office products. The main aim of the brief was to generate ideas for a new and innovative office storage system, concentrating on personal storage and personalisation of the users space.
Through my design I wanted to move away from the 'boxy' feel of the existing storage systems. I started by looking at interesting shapes, trying to keep the functionality and good use of space needed for a storage system.
This was my final idea 'Out to lunch'
Out to lunch is designed to be adapted for all aspects of office life.
Part of the brief was to Create a storage system which could accomodate both personal and group work. My design incorperates a foam lid which can be used by other colleagues as extra seating. This is also used to store hanging files, wasting no valuable space.
The screen is designed to allow the user to personalize their workspace. It also creates a sense of privacy when the user wants to get on with work alone.
The whiteboard feature also encourages personalisation. The user can leave reminders for themselves or other colleagues.
