Resumé

From 2008 to 2011, I worked at North-West based toy company 8th Wonder, as part of a design team and pitched concepts to the likes of Toys ‘R Us, Woolworths, Argos and Asda. I also designed packaging for various existing toys. This gave me an invaluable insight into how the industry works, with my designs being produced in China to be sold in the Winter ‘09 Argos catalogue and from the shelves of Asda stores across the country.

Also in 2008, I was the product designer for a government-funded design project led by GlobiGames. The brief was to create a haptic interface device for use with mobile phones, specifically for people with impaired manual dexterity who have difficulty pressing the buttons on modern-day handsets. It was very important to find primary research for this task, so models were regularly tested and interviews conducted with potential users.

After providing freelance design services for the UK's leading provider of mobile giant LED screens, I was taken on full-time and have enjoyed my position at ADI.TV for almost 3 years. This has provided some excellent experience and allowed me to work in conjunction with some iconic brands.

I am also co-founder of ‘Ideas by Splendid’, a startup group built upon a passion to design light-hearted products with a personal appeal. You can follow our blog at www.ideasbysplendid.com One of our projects was to provide a set of four bespoke trophies to our client, MyDeco, which were presented at the V&A during London Design Festival three weeks after the initial brief!
