Cross-functional team: Myself, I.D. Small Appliances Category Leader, Marketing and Mechanical Engineer. Software: Ashlar Vellum.
Whirlpool Corporation - Whirlpool KD-24 Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser. This product went into production. Objective: Use current Bauknecht dispenser mechanical and create a new fascia styling for Whirlpool and KitchenAid dishwashers. Cross functional team: Myself, internal Model Maker, Marketing and Engineering. I created the concept and a full set of dimensioned shop drawings in order to create this cosmetic appearance model. Software: Ashlar Vellum and Macromedia Freehand. Also, the final color choices, for the dispenser, allowed it to be compatible with Whirlpool (plastic tub) and KitchenAid (stainless steel tub) dishwashers.

Also, this was one of the first KitchenAid products to incorporate the newly developed KitchenAid VBL (Visual Brand Language).

Also gloved into this project was a redesign proposal for the KitchenAid logo badge - proposal shown at lower right. I worked with an outside vendor and provided them with fully dimensioned 2-D CAD in creating 10 die cast zinc prototypes for presentation / evaluation.
Whirlpool Corporation - KitchenAid Briva (Cheetah) dishwasher / sink combination. This product went into production. Cross functional team: Myself, Marketing, Engineering and external Model Makers. I created the preliminary Pro-E models defining final product styling and cutting board design. Also, this was one of the first KitchenAid products to incorporate the newly developed KitchenAid VBL (Visual Brand Language).
Whirlpool Corporation: SxS Refrigerator can caddy redesign. At that point in time the current can caddy could only hold 5 cans, because of door liner width constraints. My can caddy design proposal increased can storage capacity to 9 cans and utilized the current door liner / hang points.
Whirlpool Corporation: KitchenAid dishwasher utensil basket redesign. Objective: Redesign utensil basket to hold up to 70 utensils (non-forced load), incorporated a more comfortable grip handle, with KitchenAid logo and incorporate a stainless steel accent. This design pretty much doubled the capacity of the current KitchenAid dishwasher utensil basket.
Whirlpool Corporation: French door bottom mount refrigerator. Freestanding configuration (Whirlpool Brand), Built In configuration (KitchenAid Brand). Objective: re-introduce the French door style refrigerator back into the major household kitchen appliance market.
Whirlpool Corporation: Freestanding French door refrigerator. Detail view showing new design of hanging door liner bins. This new design allowed door bin to be wider allowing more storage within the bins.
Whirlpool Corporation Side by Side freestanding door liner refrigerator redesign. This redesign simplified door liner tooling (lower cost) and utilized "ladder style" door bin hanger. This design also allowed door bins to have greater width providing more room for storage within the bins.
Whirlpool Corporation: Whirlpool SxS freestanding refrigerator crisper bin redesign. Objective: Increase the size of the crisper bins' front window, in order to better view crisper bin contents. The final design presented a "wrap around" window configuration, and also presented a more robust humidity slider control.
Whirlpool Corporation: KitchenAid dishwasher utensil basket redesign. Detail view of utensil basket Pro-E model. This was a very large utensil basket - nearly twice the size of the current KitchenAid utensil basket. This utensil basket went into production. I created this preliminary Pro-E CAD model and handed it off to Engineering. After hand off, I worked concurrently with Engineering to final production.
