Project ORCA

This project explored current trends and future casting of technology.
Project Orca is a catamaran concept for the year 2030, powered by the advancement in technological manipulation of algae cells. The design is inspired and shaped by nature. Given the exponential growth of water tourism - and its environmental impact - I decided to design a carbon-negative alternative. The project would: Only use renewable algae fuel, changing current system of return refuelling trips. Revolutionize tourism. Acknowledge/support the benefits of bio-fuels as an ethical choice. When presenting the scaled model, I used water to simulate an ocean environment. This had a powerful effect on those spectating and was an innovative and creative way of improving user experience.
