Mechanical Designer bringing desks from concept sketch through production for the world leader in trading desks. Design for sheet metal, CNC mill, laser cutter, Laminate MDF. Participated and won KCG desk design competition for 800 trading desks. Gentex, Carbondale, Pennsylvania. 11/2014- 6/2015. Named on twenty two plus invention records; Lead inventor on at 8+. Three preliminary Utility Patents have been applied for. Prototyped concepts and customer samples through ArtiosCAD, Kongsberg plotters and 3D printing. Industrial design internship in packaging for beverage, food, tobacco and medical packaging industries. Concept Center International, Anderson, South Carolina. 8/2008 - 5/2009. Two back to back product development internships with the Ryobi and outdoor product divisions. Direct experience with 10 -15 different product lines. Created designs from concept sketches to CAD. Prototyping from foamcore to Eaden 3D printer. Intense involvement with visual brand language. Close interfacing with engineering and marketing departments. Awarded design patent. A co-op of hand blown, and cast glass artists. Apprenticeship with experience in glassblowing, casting, and some lamp working. Special Studies: Ongoing Self directed side project exploring the possibilities of Swing bikes and their construction. Three bicycles have been created to date, one 20inch cruzer swing bike, one road bike, and one bike with double swing arms. Ongoing exploration of frame geometry and pivot locations. Ceramics studio.
