Having spent quality time self-assessing this project, I have come to realize that certain critical modifications are in order. Most importantly, the scale. Although it is important to have a tall enough book drop box that would accommodate a sizable number of books, it is equally vital that the person who wishes to sit on the chair finds it at a comfortable height. However, as per the current design, this is not so. This is one factor that needs reworking. Also, many other value additions could be done to the backside of the book drop apart from seating. For instance, a display area for a new book in the library, a place for brochures etc. Also, the tall wall in between could well be turned into a touchscreen interface which makes the return process more reassuring. In standby mode, the screen could display advertisements that the library would like its patrons to see. I am currently working on these exciting new improvements and will upload them soon.
