Dragonfly - The design of the Dragonfly was a group project following the criteria of the Dyson Design Competition, which was design for the home. Our outcome was a unique flying air purifier, which has been researched to prove that it will work. The Dragonfly was a finalist in the competition.
Flip Shelter for the Homeless - After doing the other Homeless Shelter for class, I decided to combine parts of that design and create a new design for DesignBoom's Contest, which this has just been entered in. The idea is that this would be cheap enough to hand out to the Homeless. It acts as a cart with a plastic case for cans and bottles, as well as a strap to carry other personal belongings. The cart can open up, giving the person an area to sit, or it can be completely covered for an area to sleep.
Wodden Rib Chair - Furniture Design Project: Create a Chair using wood as the primary material
Outcome: Chair is created by a laminating process, combining three strips of wood for each bent piece of backing. The wood was then slid onto a bent steel spine, which offers flexibility to a person's back. The chair is held together by its own pressure, but if produced it would most likely be bolted to the steel spine.
Notch CD Holder - Project: To create a CD holder out of metal.
Solution: Took a piece of aluminum stock and and created a notch system that allowed for a minimum area to hold a CD case. Each Notch is hand cut on a band saw, and then filed to fit the case.
