I have a multitude of personal interests ranging from outdoor activities such as snowboarding and skiing in the winter to cycling, hiking and camping in the summer. I also enjoy the arts in all forms including drawing/sketching, music and film. Above all these however would be my passion for design and technology, always trying to keep apprised of the latest developments and breakthroughs.

Work Experience: Sales & Admin. Assistant, J. R. Motors, Blackburn, Lancs. January 2009 - Present J. R. Motors is my families small business which we run from home, buying and selling accident damaged cars. My duties here involve almost every aspect of what is required from such a business. From buying and selling using online auction sites and selling directly from a small lot to making the cars presentable for potential buyers. This largely means just vacuuming and washing the cars but could also involve some light repair work where necessary replacing body panels, windows, lights, etc. I am also largely responsible for the administrative side of the business, ensuring car payments went through, sales were paid for and all the proper paperwork is present and correct. Sales Assistant, Jessops, Blackburn & Manchester, Lancs. June 2006 - December 2008 I began working at Jessops as a summer job during the summer holiday after my first year of University. When the holidays ended I enquired about moving into a more long term position with them doing part time during my time at University. My duties included helping and serving customers with any questions or requests, restocking shelves and displays, cash handling and general housekeeping. Bar Person, The Venue & The Mill, Preston, Lancs. August 2005 - September 2006 I worked at these two bars and clubs simultaneously as they were both owned by the same people and we were often asked to cover for absences, large events, etc., between the two. By duties were those of general bar staff work. This included cash handling, serving customers, housekeeping and general cleaning duties and always maintaining a fully stocked bar whenever possible. Various Roles, Cad-Capture Ltd. Blackburn, Lancs. June 2001 - August 2005 During my time at Cad-Capture I worked in several different roles as much of the work done by the company was contractual and therefore often finite. My roles varied from data management assurance where I would check through customers stored data and files to ensure correct cataloguing to school surveys and plan amendments where I would visit schools across the midlands and south UK and take measurement of school buildings and assets to make any required amendments to existing plans as part of a government project. The project I was working on before leaving Cad-Capture was another government funded initiative where all of the UKs power grid was to be digitised using CAD and the team I was a part of had to make any corrections when a ‘batch’ of work fell below 100% accuracy. As part of this project I had to attend a power management course for two weeks as does any electrical engineer that works with the same systems. Office Junior, Precision Polymer Engineering Ltd. Blackburn, Lancs. January1998 - April 2001 My position at P.P.E. Ltd. was my first full-time job. I worked there as the office junior and my duties were all the basic office administration tasks one would expect from such a role. These included filing, faxing, office telephone reception (first point of contact for inbound calls) mail and post responsibilities such as receiving deliveries and franking outgoing mail for morning pickup, etc. Other duties also included arranging meetings and ensuring everything was in place and set up for such events.
