I've been working in the field of Graphic Art for more than 30 years. My first job in Long Island, NY, was working for a community newspaper. From there I moved on to a job with a major Cable company in NY and stayed there until I moved to South Florida.
Because up to this point, my graphics experience consisted of manually laying out pages and ads, I decided to learn desktop publishing on the computer because I knew that was where the graphics field was heading.
I learned all required programs and apps that were used for layout and design, and got my first job soon after that in Fort Lauderdale as an Art Director, producing a monthly, full-color magazine and a bi-monthly tourist guide for the Florida Keys.
Moving forward, my jobs have been with Sun Sentinal, in-house agencies and in-house marketing departments. I've been working on my own as a freelance for a number of years and have been working as an art director for a monthly community magazine for the last 5 years.
Besides graphic design, I love photography. I've dabbled in it and when I can, I go out with my camera and take pictures. Because I see photos as a form of art, I love to edit and manipulate photos in artistic ways and also enjoy restoring old photographs, bringing them to life.
Because my love for the fine arts has always been a passion of mine, I am now going back to my roots and starting to take up painting in my free time. As one can see, my whole life revolves around the arts!
Received Sun-Sentinel Pride Award, on the recommendation of managers and sales staff, for quality and quantity of work produced, after a year and a half of working for the company.
