Overview - A sympathetic device enabled by current technology for the elderly population to help maintain and cultivate social networks, role and identity, self-esteem, physical activities, and mental stimulation. This device addresses the problem of social isolation that linked to depression found in the elderly demographic.
Development - C-Connect is a portable smart device with multimedia and search capabilities. It links the elderly to cultural institutions, events, and databases acting as a personal assistant to the world of social experiences.
Final Design - C-Connect contains a harddisk capable of storing audio files, videos, and images so the user can store favorite media that can be revisited on demand or shared with friends. C-Connect is capable of playing sound with its internal speaker, or connecting to headphones. It can also be connected to a TV or computer through RCA cable, USB, or Wi-Fi so the user can playback any files or navigates the device with larger screen.
