Work Experience:
Valeo Sylvania
Styling Design Intern
Designed conceptual exterior vehicle lighting solutions (i.e. head lights, tail lights etc.) as apart of the styling and marketing team. This included studying market trends in technology and aesthetics, understanding Valeo Sylvania’s own technology and manufacturing capabilities and then designing innovative and fresh looks to fit particular customer vehicles. Sketched and illustrated the concepts and presented them internally as well as externally to customers.

Wahl Clipper Corp.
Industrial Design Intern
Designed new grooming products that included hair shavers, trimmers, electronic clippers, and body massagers. Sketched initial concepts and made mock foam models. Prepared 2-D mock-ups of numerous product interfaces (buttons, switches, etc.) Prepared, sanded, primed, and painted prototypes to high level of finish. 3-D scanned, modeled, and rendered various concepts digitally.

Professional Chalk Advertising
Started and co-managed chalk advertising business. Designed and created advertisements for clients and then chalked them in various places around the local community. Portfolio can be seen on Facebook under ‘U of I Chalk’.

E-Waste Competition - University of Illinois
Researched, developed, and built working model of product that reuses electronic waste (i.e. computer monitors) with a team of 4 people. Judges included representatives from Microsoft, Wal-Mart, and Dell. Placed 2nd in Technology/Geek category.

Innovation Week - University of Illinois
Designed product using discarded items, exploring how to create
with limited resources. Worked in a team of 2 and placed in the competition.
