I took time off to concentrate on my athletics career, with the goal to compete in the 800m at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Unfortunatley injuries prevented this from happening. I was happy to close this chapter and be fully committed to life as a designer.

DESIGN EXPERIENCE

2009 Constellation Wines

A national competition for the worlds largest wine company to create a new product. My concept for a new wine bottle that enhances a users experience reached the final six. The idea was pitched to a panel of judges in The Gherkin, London.

2008 Bayer Materials

A competition for innovation in plastics to demonstrate the principles of sustainable design. My project was based on saving materials and cost in the bathroom.


SKILLS

Process
My idea of the process is a holistic design strategy; I believe the designer should be involved in all aspects of the product to focus the direction of the brand and business. I am competent in my methods of; research, thinking, conceptualisation, evaulation, prototyping, refining and implementation. I am keen to improve my process to produce better design.

Communication
Sketching, renderings, prototyping and CAD skills are used to communicate visually. I have excellent people skills with confidence in speaking and writing.

Software
Fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Sketchbook Pro, Solidworks with a basic knowledge of 3DSMax

Knowledge
I have great knowledge involving all aspects of design, including materials, manufacturing processes, technical workings, biomimetics, markets, costs, social and cultural trends.
