Faux fireplace has a warm glow - For all those apartment dwellers with small spaces and ridiculous faux fireplaces this is for you! This quaint 1906 building had lovely features. The faux fireplace just needed some attention. I used a hand painted wallpaper remnant to cover the coved area. I rumpled and crinkled the paper up to make it look like an old wall. The metallic finish was appealing to me because I wanted the candle light to reflect and dance around the space, creating the illusion of a roaring fire. Cheers!

Vintage spring chair - Found in a junk store. I loved the rustic nature.
'Tis the season for tartan - The was phase one. I decided to cover the chair with warm cozy plaid blankets for winter. It made a nice comfortable reading spot. This chair really comes into it's own when moved to a mid-century building. (More images forthcoming.) And the ottoman was covered with men's plaid flannel shirts found at Goodwill. Clever, thrifty, and co-friendly? Yes, I think so. Reinvent. Revamp. Recycle. Reuse. That's my motto.
