4 is a lounge chair - almost architectural in its inherent design the chair becomes a small authoritative space. the inspiration of this design comes from origami, folding planes, steel trusses, elements in relief and an attempted twist to the prototypical Zig-Zag chair by Gerrit Rietveld.
Ruth Chaffee Elementary School - media center circulation desk for K-4 school in Newington, CT. desk had to comply with ADA standards. the metaphor of "a sea world" for the interior design of the school was translated into this desk. it has a large "deck" surface for computer and paraphernalia as well as lockable cabinets.
Information Desk - proposed information desk at main lobby of Hospital for Special Care, New Britain - CT. the desk had to be compatible to ADA standards. the custom made fabric canopy above would block afternoon sun coming from exterior windows and help create a defined space for information desk. materials used are 3Form translucent front panels, solid surface on horizontal surfaces and wood laminates on vertical services
Elizabeth Green Elementary School - media center circulation desk for K-4 school in Newington, CT. desk had to comply with ADA standards. the metaphor of "a tropical forest" for the interior design of the school was translated into this desk. desk has a large "deck" surface for computer and paraphernalia as well as lockable cabinets.
Stafford High School - circulation desk for the media center, had to conform to ADA and AWI standards. the design was a simple tapering face which aligns with the soffit above. the middle part breaks up to reveal the orange laminate. this "space" was created for wheel chair access. materials used are plastic laminates on all exposed surfaces, 3mm plastic edging and particle board core. the rear side of the desk contains lockable cabinets, filling drawers and storage spaces
