UNESCO Creativity Workshop - Participated in the TOIS, UNESCO Creativity workshop held in Turin, Italy for two weeks (15th to 28th Oct 2008). Under this workshop, I worked in close contact with children with special needs to develop new toys that encourage play and also fulfill therapeutic goals. The workshop ended with an exhibition. PLAYSCAPE- Purpose of the game: Motivate children to play and involve in a fun activity which helps them increase their concentration, hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
PlayScape
PlayScape - Each time the player starts the game with a scenario, by getting a START and END for his travel tour as decided by the spinner. The spinner helps keep the game interesting for getting a new tour to track each time.
PlayScape - The kid chooses his car and starts on the track.
PlayScape - Every time the player comes across the 'round stop', he has to pick up a card which makes the player ride his car on a new route each time. The cards are a set of opportunities, escape routes and obstacles.
PlayScape - Finally, the player has to reach his destination as per the cards and road blocks in minimum possible time.

UNESCO Creativity Workshop

I was one of the selected 20 participants worldwide for the UNESCO TOIS creativity workshop in Italy. A toy was designed for improving hand-eye coordination for children with special needs. Special care was given to the child I observed and his likes and dislikes were kept in mind while designing this toy.
