This shows a concept sketch for a new hairdryer controls interface. The idea here is to have the heat and power buttons controls situated on the top rear end of the hairdryer barrel allowing clear visual understanding and access to the user.

This interface concept is similar to the previous, using a series of slide controls instead of buttons. This allows the stylist intuitive access to see and use the controls while using the hairdryer on the client.

A concept sketch for another hairdryer controls interface. The idea here is to have dial controls situated on the barrel behind the handle. This position allows heat and power controls to be operated with one hand, giving more freedom and control to the user.

Another concept sketch for a hairdryer controls interface. The idea here is to use two seamless revolving control switches for heat and power on the lower end of the handle so no interference is caused with the hand gripping the upper part of the handle.

This hairdryer concept sketch features a motor within the handle. When the motor is activated by the button on the back, the hairdryer barrel on top will oscillate back and forth. This reduces the need for the hair stylist to repeat this motion - a potential repetitive strain injury.
