Indianapolis Monthly is a regional general-interest magazine that covers local events, business, arts/entertainment, style, dining, and personalities. Among the staff of almost 30, my position involves editorial design for the main title, plus its ancillary publications and a few client projects. Layout of various types of articles, including special advertising sections, features, departments, front-of-book items and section openers. Art direction, styling and propping on photo shoots - on location and in studio. Intensive photo editing, including color correction and photo compositing. Selection and acquisition of freelance illustration. Some editorial responsibilities, such as contributing story ideas, coming up with headlines, and scouting products and locations.

Stevens & Stevens LLC is a marketing and communications firm that caters specifically to professional associations and fraternities and sororities. As part of a small staff working in a virtual-office setting, my chief duties involved layout and graphic design for clients in various industries, such as residential electronics, new-product development, association management, and interior-design education - to mention a few. Projects included newsletters/magazines, event promotions (including invitations, save-the-date postcards, registration brochures, on-site programs, banners and booth display graphics), print advertising, annual reports, corporate identity/stationery, directories, general marketing materials and some website design.

The Indiana CPA Society is the state's professional association for Certified Public Accountants, offering continuing education and networking opportunities for professionals, as well as industry promotion and marketing. As a member of the support staff in the communications department, my main functions were publication design and writing and editing copy. Maintained contact with printing vendors, including keeping a log of all print jobs and monitoring their progress. Posted and updated information on the organization's website. Served as staff liaison to member volunteer committees. Some media relations and assistance in event planning.

Derby Lite is a Chicago-based on-skates fitness program based on roller derby skills and drills. It is a growing organization, with operations in various cities from Maine to California. As manager and lead instructor for the Indianapolis location, my duties include planning and leading practices; scheduling and overseeing additional instructors; facility logistics and coordination; special-event planning; public speaking and appearances; public relations (internal and external), event promotion, and social media; building and maintaining relationships with vendors; merchandise orders; surveys and member communications.
Currently using the following software in Mac OSX: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Office Suite. Past experience with FreeHand, Fireworks, Dreamweaver.
