Trend Forecasting on ‘Mobility and Progress’ with the automobile company, Renault, India. “Colour-Next 2012” with Asian Paints “Future Surface Textures” with Samsung ‘Light painting ’ workshop held by Pragyan. Learnt the light painting can be used to enhance the presentation and edit the picture to add visual value. Pottery ,by craftsmen of Dakshin chitra ,Chennai at nit trichy . Entrepreneurship Development , with Prof Muthu Singaram ACADEMIC PROJECTS: EXPLORING MATERIALS ,STRUCTURES AND SURFACES : Created surfaces and then a structure from a polythene bags waste inspired by a image and then acquiring same feel and visual look of image in texture and surface . 3D STRUCTURE -BRAIDING AND CROCHET (at NID): techniques used to create structures made up of threads and chords .Guide Y N Vivekananda. CRAFT PROJECT: Studied “bidriware ” of Bidar . Visited places like Bidar and Hyderabad and analysed the changes in crafts and market requirement of both places. This involved living with the craft community for a fortnight observing, understanding and documenting the craft while getting interesting insights into their lives. Mini project - Glass jewellery: Worked with artisans from ferozabad and designed a range of jewellery with glass, inspired from “Chaos of mumbai ” ,the chaos of traffic,crowd and buildings at mumbai were depicted and arrived at the form with chaos but at the smae time having its own harmony within i.e aamchi mumbai .A range was designed for a trendy and experimental persona. PERSONAL ACCESSORY: Personal accessory with eco-friendly material and waste produced in industry. Designed a fold-able hand bag with Veneer by experimenting with its properties . UNCONVENTIONAL JEWELLERY: Exploring and using "Screw "as object and combining with metal sheet and wires ,creating jewellery out of it . VISUAL MERCHANDISING : SKILLS: Comfortable exploring and working hands on materials. Acquainted with techniques of pottery ,Huge posters and graffiti . Design Presentation: Concept generation, Research and Analysis, Design thinking, Sketching, manual rendering, various material modeling, Prototyping, Visual value and Aesthetics, styling. Skill development modules such as Design Drawing, Material and Structure, and Geometry give an understanding of various material properties and enhance the students' working and representational skills. Other courses include Fashion and Industrial Design History, Trend Mapping and Forecasting, and Retail Management and Design. There are 6 design modules that cover the various areas of accessory design including personal accessories and space accessories. Students are encourage to undertake focussed research which involves in-depth understanding of the target user. A design brief is derived from the research, ensuring user-oriented solutions.
