Cocoon

This Project is still related to Ulrika Måntensson’s quote "Textile Structure in Different Scales". Moreover, It is narrated by Myzelev. “Myzelev (in 1994:3) suggested the the traditional crafts become the concrete sign of the loss of representation power. Related to the past and conceived nostalgically through connection to our parents’ and grandparents’ domestic activities” Both became the method of building Cocoon in creating the textile structure in the big scale with hand knitting.

I selected my 3D knitting fabric and I change the process from industrial work to handicraft work in order to narrate the knitting history and to makes audiences' feeling the past of knitting work in the big scale.

Technique: Hand Knitting.
Material: Circular knitting rope.
Size: approx. 50W * 50L * 120H cm.
