George III Style Gilt Lime Swags
The bell flowers swag decoration was a typical decoration in the George III style. These European Lime decorative swags are part of a Torchere; the swags are holded by a metal wire covered with silk, and have layers of gesso covering them, followed by bole and water gilding.
The swags had undergone a total restoration, to expose the detaild leaves that were hidden by the thick layer of gesso added over the years.
