FLUXION v01 - I had the initial idea for Fluxion in 2001. It was meant to be a comic book with a rather simple plot. I was thinking of lots of weapons, massive explosions, beautiful women, spaceships traveling at the speed of light and plenty of action. But with my growing interest in film and computer graphics, I decided to do an animated short movie as a semester project. Working with computers was quite new to me at that time; ...
movie stills - ...my only experience was a little Photoshop and Freehand. So there was much to learn. I started working with programs like Cinema 4D, After Effects, Flash, Premiere and Avid.
Because of my growing knowledge in animated film and working on parallel projects the concept and story of Fluxion kept changing and growing. The "semester" wouldn`t come to an end and the short movie developed into an idea of a full length movie.
movie stills nanobot - The first intelligent Nanobots, as described in Fluxion, were mainly used in the middle of the 21st century by the military and in medicine. They had been merely the size of a red blood cell. The Nanobots congregated in gigantic numbers and formed bigger machines. With their formation abilities they could take on the form of any object - even of a human being.
All exist under the lordship of SENSE FIVE; which is the collective consciousness of all FLUXIONARY BEINGS.
movie stills architecture - The HUMAN SPACE CITY is just one of many "fluxionary" cities. It appears like a gigantic organic cell, or a deep-sea creature, drifting through dark water. Like all the other objects, associated with the human being, it is a temporary city. With long tentacles it is connected to the earth. It floats a few miles beyond the eart`s surface, in open space. The city continuously changes its shape and disappears if not needed.
concept art - The latest version of Fluxion is set in the year 2976, inspired by Bram Stokers Dracula. It is about immortal life, wandering between two worlds, assuming shape of any kind and matter, adopting various characters, being able to control nature and feeding on mortal human life and love. Inspired by the future visions of Kim Eric Drexler and Raymond Kurzweil, Fluxion describes the next level of evolution in the human species, based on nanotechnology and electronic data processing. ...
concept art - ...The human being, free from his primary biological body, combined with his own creation "the machine", moves in a digital world and the real world, in form of a "fluxionary being".
The human being exists in symbiosis with nature; earth has become a new "Garden of Eden". Humans travel to the stars and enter the worlds beyond atoms and quarks.
Everything seems perfect until one day; something that has been forgotten suddenly awakes.
concept painting - ...FLUXION is a science fiction fairy tail about being human.

Nanobot logos - The Nanobot logo is also an identity code; the dots are the individual fingerprint. Every Nanobot is part of a Nanobot unit, all units have their own variation of the logo. The symbol of the ant describes the function of the Nanobot, they are all workers and warriors, ruled by their queen - SENSE FIVE.
