Newts, - Every so often, I have to throw down my mouse and instead, throw stuff at a leftover chunk of chipboard. This piece was based on a photo by my sister and a scrap of text from Annie Dillard: "newts are altogether excellent creatures, if rather moist, but no one pays the least attention to them, except children." Xerox, cut paper, tissue paper, marker, acrylic and colored pencil. Winner at MWPI Annual Sidewalk Show — first (and so far only) time I've entered a "fine art" competition.
