Muck Lab (The Maryland Union of the Crytozoologically Knowledgeable) is a fictional team of cryptozoologist sent to Belfast, Maine in search of the local “MucK Monster”. This elaborate rouse was conspired by a team of graphic designers with the intentions of bringing the community closer together. Our goal was to use playful local folklore as a way of creating conversation. Throughout this weeklong design blitz, we curated fictional artifacts, pictures, and videos documenting local sea serpent sittings. Our findings were presented in a one day exhibition.
