This is a quick hand sketch and illustrator project I completed over a rainy weekend. It’s a versatile pack designed for the performance-minded urban commuter. I branded the pack as The North Face because I'm a fan of their products and I think they have the potential to really elevate this particular market. Living in the city, without a car, I constantly find myself debating which bag to bring on my various excursions. As a result, I have acquired quite a collection of backpacks, messenger bags, laptop bags, etc. This project is my first attempt at a solution for the bag-hoarding habit, that I'm sure many other urbanites have experienced.

After exploring different features and concepts, I arrived at a pack with a removable top-lid, quick drawstring closure, or compressable and protective roll-top. Other features include a floating laptop sleeve, quick side-access to the main chamber, and thoughtfully placed reflective highlights.

My goal was to create a clean, durable carry-all pack that will transform along with the dynamic needs of city-living. This is by no means a perfect, well-developed concept, and I'm sure there will be more concepts to come, but for my needs it's a step in the right direction.
