TU DELFT | The driving concept was the development of a shell with both anticlastic and synclastic double curved surfaces- thereby ensuring the surface active form for a shell behavior.
The next challenge, however, came from the fabrication of a double curved surface from planar material. In order to ensure planarity of the quadrilateral faces, a grasshopper script was used to evaluate the surface into planar quad meshes.
In the remaining three days it was built up from tiles of expanded polystyrene with the edges cut in their respective angles and held together by simple adhesive tape
