BALL-NOGUES STUDIO | Recycling the formwork of another project spawned the design and engineering of a panelized building system
which could be assembled and disassembled with bolts. This would allow for sufficient strength to hold the sculpture, while being accessbile and quickly demountable.
Along with that, the digital model had to be parametric to study different structural rib layouts quickly and accurately. Finally, the digital model also had to provide shop drawings for hundreds of individual parts, to be assembled into panels. To achieve this level of accuracy and flexibility, the entire model was built as a grasshopper script to streamline designing, optimization, and fabrication.
