The Sibelious water bottle is designed to solve a single problem: It is tricky and awkward to fill up a waterbottle from a typical drinking fountain. A common waterbottle fills up vertically, requiring a high tap height. They cannot be filled horizontally from shallow drinking fountains. Many potential solutions were experimented with, including bottles with two different holes and even ones with elaborate mechanisms. But my final design is a simple rubber lid that stretched from the top and down the side of the bottle to allow thirsty users to hold it either horizontally or vertically to refill. The round eyelet at the back, serves as a carabineer and finger loop for carrying. I wanted the water bottle to appeal to an active-lifestyle younger audience, as they tend to do the most water bottle refilling. Bright, contrasting colours and rounded, oversized text graphics draw people’s attention and say, 'Check out my badass waterbottle!"
