Employment History / Job Description

During my almost 15 years in the industry as a designer I’ve handled product development of items such as wood, metal, resin, and now glass ornaments, I used to design home decors from wooden and metal picture frames to iron fireplace screens and accessories, I also handled development of wooden accent furniture for Target.
I was lucky and honored to be sent by the companies that I worked with to international trade shows like the Ambiente and Tendence in Frankfurt Germany, the Miason in Paris France, the Osaka International Fair in Japan. I was also sent to trend meetings and product presentations to the Target Office in Minneapolis Minnesota.
I also had part time jobs as professor of Industrial Design at the Philippine Women’s University and. I also designed woven and wicker furniture part time for a year. I’m also doing graphic designs for a HK based compnay, we design souvenir items.
Now, I am currently a graphic designer for an environmental sign manufacturing company in Dubai, but our office is located here in Manila.

4. Frequent travels to different glass factories in some provinces of China.
Achievements:
1. Filled the 2010 showroom with substantial number of carefully crafted glass décor and ornaments, and wood and metal tabletops
2. Orders were placed by target on wooden and metal wall hanging signs

Responsibilities:
1. Travel to different provinces in the Philippines to do product development with small scale and starting manufacturers.
2. Evaluate the strength and weaknesses of each manufacturer’s in then execute design solutions using abundant and unique raw materials from the area.
3. Monitor the product development process from start to finish
4. Design and set up booths for each manufacturer to showcase their products in local trade fairs.
Achievements:
1. Learned and discovered new materials, and designed globally competitive products incorporating these materials.
2. Help the manufacturers by giving them pointers on trends and designed product lines that focus on their strengths.
Reason for leaving :The work is per project basis, I noticed that projects are slowly making long time gaps due to the recent recession, that’s the time I decided to go back to China.

2. Orders were placed on the jingle bell characters metal table top decor
Reason for leaving :I was given by AFTI a very good offer to go back to the Philippines and work at home.

September 2003 – December 2007: Lara’s Gift and Decors , Veteran’s Center Taguig City, Philippines

5. Design and execute booth settings for local and global trade shows.
Achievements:
1. The company grew bigger and bigger for more than ten years because of continued placed orders by Target on fireplace products developed by the design team.
Reason for leaving :The company did not survive the global recession of 2007, It closed down on December 2007.

1. Developed table top decors and ornaments for two Easter themes made of mixed materials from wood to tin to resin to fabric.
Reason for leaving :I bumped into my former boss in Lara’s Gifts and Decors and made me a very reasonable offer to return to their company.

1.Designed and developed home décor products that got a large amount of orders from Europe and US which in made the company bigger and branched out to develop other products using other materials such as wood and metal.
Reason for leaving :I decided to join Team Hold for their lucrative offer and that time I want to experience working out of the country.
