My art education is in painting and printmaking, I studied art before I became a graphic designer. My paintings reflect my suburban upbringing and cultural background. I grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, an isolated suburbia that was built in the 1940's to be a research laboratory and community for the scientists who worked on the first atomic bomb. The town was established as an ideal community, reflecting the styles and beliefs of cold war America in it's buildings, schools and churches. The isolated suburban community and the underlying strangeness of modern family life are consistent themes in my work.
